CAS :<p>Chloramphenicol acetyltransferase from escherichia coli (EC 2.3.1.28) detoxfies the antibiotic Chloramphenicol by attaching aceryl group. This renders chroramphenicol inactive, as it looses its ability to bind and inactivate ribosomes.
