2-Methyl-3-phenoxypropan-1-ol is an organic compound that belongs to the group of phasic molecules. It is a competitive blocker of sodium channels and has been shown to be effective at relieving muscle spasms. 2-Methyl-3-phenoxypropan-1-ol is a stereoselective blocker of voltage-gated Na+ channels, and is a congener of phenoxybenzamine (PBO), which inhibits the release of acetylcholine in the central nervous system. This drug also blocks chloride channels, thereby preventing the accumulation of extracellular fluid volume in tissues.
