2-({8-Methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-2-yl}methoxy)benzoic acid is a potent and selective inhibitor of the human voltage gated potassium channel Kv1.5. It has been shown to inhibit the function of Kv1.5 channels in cell lines and in animal models. 2-({8-Methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-2-yl}methoxy)benzoic acid may be used as a research tool for studying ion channels and their role in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and immune response. This compound binds to a region on the extracellular domain of Kv1.5 that is required for channel activation and has been shown to block both inward rectifier currents and delayed rectifier currents in Xenopus oocytes expressing recombinant Kv1.5 channels.
