It is also known as (2’,3’)-O-(2-methoxyethyl) 5'-O-(4,4'-dimethoxytrityl)thymidine or 3’-b-C-Methyluridine. It has been shown to have anticancer properties in vitro and in vivo, and it can be used for the treatment of prostate cancer. 3’-b-C-Methyluridine is synthesized by the reaction of uracil with bis(trimethylsilyl)acetamide followed by reaction with methylamine.
