Walsuronoid B is a natural compound that belongs to the class of skeleton compounds. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inducing autophagy and apoptosis, which are processes that remove damaged or unnecessary cellular components. Walsuronoid B has been shown to be active against human liver cancer cells and resistant cancer cells in culture. It induces apoptosis in a multidrug-resistant human liver cancer cell line (bel-7402) through mitochondrial pathway activation. This natural compound also has anticancer activity against other types of cancer cells.
