Ku-32 was found to reduce neuronal death, which is caused by the decrease of basic proteins and increase of free radicals. Ku-32 also affects the function of mitochondria, increasing the membrane potential and blocking apoptosis. Ku-32 may be used in pharmacological treatments for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
