1-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid is a research tool for the study of ion channels and ligand binding. It is an inhibitor of potassium channels. This compound is used as an immunogen to produce antibodies against the inhibitory peptide. It has been shown to activate the NMDA receptor in rat brains, leading to potential therapeutic applications. 1-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid also binds to a number of other receptors, including acetylcholine receptors and opioid receptors.
