<p>PBB 10 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the antigen on the surface of cells. It is used in immunocytochemical staining and immunohistochemical staining techniques, as well as in ELISA assays. PBB 10 can be used for the detection of brominated biphenyls (PBBs) in liquid samples that are either incubated or not incubated with a brominating agent. Within rituximab, the variable region of the light chain (41-55) was found to have strong affinity for leukocytes in a specific binding assay, the epitope was also correlated to patients who developed neutralising antibodies. This T cell epitope within rituximab in further immune studies could help design or selection of antibodies without T cell epitopes present for low immunogenicity.</p>
