CAS :1-Benzyl-3-bromopiperidin-2-one is an enantioselective synthesis of (R)-1-benzylpiperidin-2-one that has been shown to be effective against Pseudomonas cepacia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The enzyme pseudomonas lipase was used in the synthesis, which is immobilized onto a porous support to prevent it from being washed away by the organic solvent. This method results in a high yield of (S)-1-(benzyloxycarbonyl)piperidin-2-one, with little or no racemization.
