It has been shown to be effective against pancreatic cancer cells and T-cell lymphomas. Quinoxaline-2-sulfonamide binds to the receptor on the surface of the cancer cell and prevents it from dividing. This drug also inhibits inflammatory diseases by binding to receptors in target tissues. The pharmacophore of this drug is similar to that of quinine, which has been shown to inhibit virus growth. Quinoxaline-2-sulfonamide can be administered orally for the treatment of some cancers, including stomach cancer, colon cancer, and breast cancer.
