Tungsten(VI) oxide is used in tungsten and tungstate manufacturing which are used as X-ray screens and for fire proofing fabrics. It is used as a ceramic pigment. Nanowires of tungsten(VI) oxide are capable of absorbing a higher percentage of the sun radiation since it absorbs blue light. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
