Description

Silver trifluoromethanesulfonate is useful in halide abstraction. It helps in activating sulphur protecting groups at the anomeric centres of carbohydrates in the presence of iodine. It is employed as a triflating agent in combination with Palladium compounds, as a catalyst for cross coupling reactions, and in several organic transformation reactions. Polyurethanes prepared from silver triflate exhibit high permeability and selectivity towards olefins in their separation from paraffin mixtures.
