Description

S-Acetylthiocholine iodide is an acetylcholinesterase substrate for the colorimetric determination of acetylcholinesterase activity. In this assay the production of thiocholine formed in the hydrolysis of acetylthiocholine is measured by coupling of the reactive thiol with DTNB to give a thionitrobenzoate (TNB). The TNB is a yellow anion and its formation can be measured spectrometrically. Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist.
