Description

4-(Dimethylamino)-2,2-diphenylpentanamide is an analog of nitroglycerin that acts as a growth factor in animals. It stimulates the production of epidermal growth factor and fatty acids. It has been used to treat bowel disease by acting as an anti-inflammatory agent. 4-(Dimethylamino)-2,2-diphenylpentanamide is also used in veterinary medicine for endoparasites and inflammatory bowel disease. In addition, it is used to control symptoms in humans with these diseases. The drug is administered orally or rectally with a glycol ester or glycol ether carrier. 4-(Dimethylamino)-2,2-diphenylpentanamide can be given to patients who are allergic to glycerol esters or glycerol ethers because it does not contain these ingredients.
