The physiological effects of 2,4,5-TPA have been studied in mice and rats. 2-(2,4,5-Trichlorophenoxy)propionic acid has been shown to induce apoptosis in cultured cells by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins and inducing the expression of apoptosis protein Bax. It has also been shown to affect body mass index in mice. This chemical can be injected into bacterial strains for analysis using LC-MS/MS methods.
