Decylbenzene is a chemical that is used as a solvent, fragrance, and in the manufacture of detergents. It has been shown to have an effect on skin cancer cells when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Decylbenzene reacts with sodium carbonate to produce decylbenzenesulfonate and sodium carbonate.
