It has been shown to be reactive with skin cells, bacterial strains, and methyl myristate. Isobutyl Palmitate has a C-14 acyl chain with a saturated fatty acid (C-16:0) that contains an ethylene diamine group. This fatty acid ester can be synthesized by reacting the carboxylic acid component with ethylene diamine. The type strain of this product has been shown to have good surface methodology properties in cell culture studies.
