Menthyl Anthranilate is a UV absorber that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It absorbs ultraviolet light and protects the skin from the harmful effects of sunlight. Menthyl Anthranilate has been shown to have a kinetic effect on copper complex formation, which may be due to its UV absorption properties. This chemical also has photophysical and photostability properties that are dependent on polymer matrix, as well as an α-tocopherol fatty acid methyl anthranilate complex that may contribute to its stability against radiation. Menthyl Anthranilate can be used as a sunscreen agent and can be found in polymeric matrices with a high degree of photostability.
