Description

3-Phenoxy-1,2-propanediol is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of hydroxyl compounds. It has a low energy and no ionic charge, which makes it a good candidate for use in immobilized applications. 3-Phenoxy-1,2-propanediol is used as a crosslinking agent to strengthen materials made from ester compounds or plastics. It has been shown to be effective against marine microorganisms in laboratory experiments. 3-Phenoxy-1,2-propanediol is also an x-ray absorption agent that can be used for the analysis of chemical structures.
