Ricinelaidic acid is a natural product that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to inhibit translocation of bacteria to the bloodstream, which can lead to bacterial infection. Ricinelaidic acid was synthesized from ricinoleic acid and sodium hydroxide in an inorganic reaction.
