• Description: Ethyl Linoleate is a fatty acid that has been shown to have both anti-atherosclerotic and anti-inflammatory properties. Ethyl Linoleate inhibits the formation of atherosclerotic lesions in rabbits fed a high cholesterol diet, and improves their lipid profiles. It also inhibits the synthesis of linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid. This action may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme delta-9 desaturase, which is responsible for the conversion of oleic acid to linoleic acid. The acetate extract of ethyl linoleate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in mice. This extract also exhibits antioxidant activity by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibiting lipid peroxidation.; Ethyl Linoleate belongs to the chemical class of fatty acids, which are organic compounds with one or more long hydrocarbon chains.
