N,N-Diethyl-o-toluidine is a glycidyl ether that is used as an epoxy resin toughener. It is a cyclic compound with two epoxide groups. The molecular weight of N,N-Diethyl-o-toluidine is 106.16 g/mol and its chemical formula is C9H11NO2. This compound has a hydroxy group and an ether substituent. The functionalities of the hydroxy groups on this compound are hydroxyl and ether. N,N-Diethyl-o-toluidine reacts with epichlorohydrin in the presence of an acid to form a polyglycidyl ether that can be used as a toughening agent for polymers such as polypropylene.
