Description :
Ethyl chloranesulfonate is a colorless, volatile liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical preparations and can be obtained by the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with ethyl chloride. Ethyl chloranesulfonate reacts with an alkoxy radical to produce a chloride group, which can be detected by its deuterium isotope effect. The type species of this molecule is ethyl chloroformate, which has a hydroxyl group instead of a methyl group on the ethyl chain.
