Description :
Sec-Butyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate is an aliphatic, optical, nucleophile that is used to label anion and halides. It is a racemized, deuterium labeled analog of butyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate that can be used in kinetic studies. Sec-Butyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form the ion pair, which then reacts with tosylates. This reaction has been shown to occur stereospecifically.
