N-(Trifluoromethylthio)phthalimide (TFTP) is a disulfide that is used in organic synthesis. TFTP is a nucleophile that can be used to introduce the trifluoromethylthiol group into small molecules. It has been shown to catalyze the formation of unsymmetrical pyrazoles in reactions with amines and boronic acids, as well as the functionalization of nitrogen nucleophiles. TFTP also reacts with fluorine to form a variety of functional groups, including sulfonium salts, which are useful for agrochemical applications.
