Description

1,1-Dimethoxycyclohexane is a chemical compound that consists of a hydroxyl group and an asymmetric carbon atom. It has been used for the synthesis of other organic compounds with different functional groups. 1,1-Dimethoxycyclohexane has also been found to inhibit the growth of bacteria by reacting with the cell wall and changing the cell membrane's permeability to ions. This changes the electrolyte balance in the cell and inhibits cellular respiration. 1,1-Dimethoxycyclohexane is also a potent antibacterial agent that is effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Acinetobacter baumannii.
