Description

2-(Aminomethyl)-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid is an antimicrobial that belongs to the group of aminocoumarins. It inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting microbial enzymes such as genetic and structural synthesis. 2-(Aminomethyl)-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to inhibit the production of enterobacteriaceae and other bacteria strains. This drug also has an effect on intestinal immunity and is used to treat infections caused by these bacteria. 2-(Aminomethyl)-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid can be used to combat microbes that are resistant to antibiotics. The mechanism of action for this drug is not known, but it may be due to its ability to act as a nutrient or effector protein in a microcin system.
