Difloxacin is a bactericidal, broad-spectrum, fluroquinolone antibiotic which is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. By interfering with the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, which is necessary for the upkeep and synthesis of bacterial DNA, it causes an antibacterial impact. It is used for the treatment of many bacterial infections including skin infections.
