Description

Ancarolol is a drug that belongs to the class of amide-type drugs. It is an insulin receptor antagonist that binds to insulin receptors, thereby inhibiting the binding of insulin to the receptor and blocking its action. Ancarolol has been shown to reduce blood pressure and relieve symptoms of congestive heart failure. This drug also blocks ventricular dysfunction by reducing the secretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline in response to stress and exercise. Ancarolol reduces lipoprotein-associated cholesterol levels, which may be due to its inhibition of fatty acid synthesis or activity of receptors on lipoproteins.
