4-Methylcyclohexylamine hydrochloride is a chemical compound with the formula CH3CH2NHCH2CH2ClH. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of glimepiride, an antidiabetic drug. 4-Methylcyclohexylamine hydrochloride is prepared by the isomerization of cyclohexanone to cyclohexanol followed by reaction with ammonia. This product can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of sulfones and aliphatic dialkyl formulae.
