Description

3-Benzyl-7-oxa-3-azabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane is a regioselective epoxide ring opening agent with the ability to undergo amine substitution. It has been shown to have antitumor activity in mice, and is reactive with free amines. This compound can be synthesized by reacting an amine with 3-benzyloxypropene followed by reaction with diethylaluminum chloride. 3-Benzyl-7-oxa-3-azabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane is also a reagent that can be used for stereospecific synthesis of substituted piperidines and aminolysis of alkaloids with tertiary amines.br>
