Description

2-[2-[4-[Bis(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]piperazin-1-yl]ethoxy]acetic acid hydrochloride (FPA) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the CCR5 receptor. It blocks the binding of HIV to this receptor, preventing its entry into cells. FPA can be used to study the role of CCR5 in inflammation, as well as for treating chronic inflammatory diseases such as idiopathic urticaria and other autoimmune disorders. FPA has been shown to have a linear calibration curve in pharmacokinetics studies and minimal drug interactions with other drugs. It also exhibits low toxicity in animal models, which makes it an ideal candidate for use in humans.
