Informations sur le produit
4-Bromo-N-(5-chloro-2-pyridyl)benzamide is an antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. 4-Bromo-N-(5-chloro-2-pyridyl)benzamide has been shown to be effective against gram positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, but not against gram negative bacteria. The potency of this lead compound was determined using a test method based on microdilution.
