Description

(R)-(“)-4,12-Bis[di(3,5-xylyl)phosphino]-[2.2]-paracyclophane is an enantioselective catalyst for the asymmetric synthesis of amines with high yields and enantioselectivities. It has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of a variety of amines, including those containing electron-donating substituents such as nitro or cyano groups. The catalytic activity of (R)-(“)-4,12-Bis[di(3,5-xylyl)phosphino]-[2.2]-paracyclophane is dependent on the presence of Lewis acids such as AlCl3 or FeCl3 and on its steric bulk.
