Description :1-(Carboxymethyl)-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxylic acid is a centrosymmetric molecule that has luminescence properties. It can be used in FTIR spectra and diffraction analyses to study the molecular structure of solid materials. The 1H NMR spectrum of the dihydrate form shows a single line at 3.3 ppm, while the chloride form exhibits two lines at 3.3 ppm and 4.5 ppm. It can also be used as a ligand in lanthanide complexes, as well as transition metal complexes with an environment of elemental chlorine or bromine.
