Description

Glycopyrrolate is a drug that is used to treat drooling, chronic cough, and bowel disease. It is an anticholinergic drug that blocks the action of acetylcholine in the body by blocking receptors for this neurotransmitter. Glycopyrrolate has been shown to have a low risk of drug interactions with other drugs due to its low plasma protein binding. Glycopyrrolate also has a stable dose-response relationship and does not need to be titrated for efficacy. The effects of glycopyrrolate are primarily on the gastrointestinal tract, where it inhibits gastric motility and reduces acid secretion.
