This compound has been shown to have anticancer activity in animal models and broad spectrum antimicrobial activities against a variety of bacteria. 2-((3-(3,6-Dichloro-9H-carbazol-9-yl)-2-hydroxypropyl)amino)-2-(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3diol inhibits growth of mammalian cells by inducing autophagy and low expression levels.
