• Description: ARQ 087 is a monoclonal antibody that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on cancer cells. The EGFR plays an important role in cell proliferation. ARQ 087 blocks the binding of EGF to EGFR, inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells and leading to tumour shrinkage. ARQ 087 has been shown to have therapeutic effects on animal models of skin cancer and solid tumours. This drug is also able to inhibit the growth of Caco2 cells, a type of human colon carcinoma cell line, as well as basic fibroblast cells from healthy individuals.
