Description :
2,6-Dimethyltetrahydro-4H-pyran-4-one is an organic compound that can be used as a catalyst for hydrogenation reactions. It is prepared from mesua and stamens of the flower. 2,6-Dimethyltetrahydro-4H-pyran-4-one is also a potential extract from the plant. It has been shown to have antihypertensive effects in animals and may reduce blood pressure by blocking angiotensin II receptors.
