3-(Cyclopentylamino)propionitrile is an aliphatic compound that has a yield of 98% from the reaction between cyclopentanamine and acrylonitrile. It is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of various antibiotics, including antibiotic drugs. 3-(Cyclopentylamino)propionitrile has been shown to selectively inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro.
