Description

Methyl triallylsilane is a reactive chemical that is used to activate the surface of a substrate. It has an activation energy of 42-43 kcal/mol and can be used in organic solvents as well as in aqueous solutions. Methyl triallylsilane is typically used to convert hydrophobic groups on the surface of a substrate into hydrophilic groups. The methyl group in this compound reacts with the surface, forming an organosilicon, which then reacts with chlorine atom to form organochloride or chloromethyl groups. These groups are reactive and can be activated by other compounds such as benzyl chloride or hydrocarbon molecules. Methyl triallylsilane also has the ability to hydrogen bond with other compounds such as magnesium, which can help it react more quickly with other substances.
