7-Bromobicyclo[4.1.0]heptane is a biologically active molecule that belongs to the group of monoamine neurotransmitters. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells and colorectal adenocarcinoma cells in vitro, as well as to induce apoptosis in these cells. The binding constants of 7-bromobicyclo[4.1.0]heptane and ruthenium complex have been determined using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with calf-thymus DNA and human serum albumin as probes and hepg2 cells as a target; binding constants for the complexes were found between 1.8 × 10M and 1.9 × 10M (Kd). 7-Bromobicyclo[4.1.0]heptane has also been shown to be an effective agent against P aeruginosa and other bacteria; it binds to the
