Description

1-Phenyl-1-hexyne is an organic solvent that is used in the production of polymers, pesticides, and other chemicals. It is also used as a fuel for some high-performance aircraft. Dimethylformamide (DMF) is one of the most commonly used solvents in industrial chemistry. It can be used to dissolve or suspend many different substances and can be easily evaporated away without leaving any residue. 1-Phenyl-1-hexyne has been shown to have protonation properties that allow it to catalyze reactions at lower temperatures than other organic solvents such as DMF. This property makes 1-phenyl-1 hexyne more useful as a homogeneous catalyst than DMF in certain reactions.
