Titanium oxide (Ti2O3) is a non-toxic and biocompatible material. It is used in the manufacture of biomedical implants, such as bone screws and plates, as well as dental implants, due to its corrosion resistance properties. Titanium oxide can be manufactured into nanoparticles that are less than 100 nanometers in diameter. This property allows the particles to be used in drug delivery systems. Titanium oxide has been shown to have a high level of structural stability when exposed to chemical reactions or high temperatures. The hydrophobic nature of titanium oxide makes it an excellent candidate for use in oil spill cleanup because it does not absorb water, which would otherwise cause the oil to spread and become more difficult to clean up.
Titanium oxide has been used for centuries by humans for different purposes. For example, ancient Greeks and Romans used titanium pigment (a type of titanium dioxide) in their paintings because they believed the pigment had special powers that could ward off evil spirits or bring good
