Phosphoric acid dioctyl ester sodium also has the ability to increase the permeability of cell membranes. This penetrant can be used for dermal penetration studies by adding it to collagen gel or glycol ethers. It is also used for low bioavailability research by coating hydroxy methylated compounds with phosphoric acid dioctyl ester sodium.
