Description

6-Hydroxy-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydropyridazin-3-one is a ligand that binds to the 5HT1A serotonin receptor. It is a vinylic lactam and has been shown to be an effective ligand for this receptor. 6-Hydroxy-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydropyridazin-3-one has also been shown to have an antagonistic effect on the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABAA receptors, which may be related to its antidepressant effects. 6HPDP has been shown to possess antihistaminergic activity in vivo. The molecule has a dipole moment of 2.0 D, which makes it polarizable. This allows it to be used as a receptor ligand for 5HT1A serotonin receptors and benzodiazepine sites of GABAA receptors.
