Description :
²-Estradiol 17-acetate is a synthetic estrogen that has been shown to be inactive in bioassays with animals. It can be used as an analytical reference standard for bioanalytical methods. The chemical structure of ²-estradiol 17-acetate is similar to that of natural estrogens, but it is different in two ways: the acetate group replaces the ester group and the carbon atom at the 17th position is substituted by a hydrogen atom. ²-Estradiol 17-acetate's high molecular weight and low solubility limit its use in biological assays.
