Tetradecylcyclohexane is a hydrocarbon that has a viscosity of about 100 centipoise and an electron diameter of about 1.4 nm. It is activated by the addition of hydroxyl groups, which increases its reactivity with other compounds. Tetradecylcyclohexane is used in the production of polymers and resins. It has also been shown to be antiviral and anti-hepatitis in humans. Tetradecylcyclohexane is not found naturally, but is synthesized from alicyclic compounds in the laboratory. The molecule consists of four rings of carbon atoms arranged like a square pyramid with two hydrogen atoms attached to each ring. This makes it an aromatic hydrocarbon.
