2-(Methylsulfanyl)-1,3,5-triazine is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHNOS. It is a hydrogen bond acceptor and has been shown to have genotoxic effects in bacterial strains. 2-(Methylsulfanyl)-1,3,5-triazine has also been found to bind to an antibody that recognizes a particular monoclonal light chain. This binding may interfere with the process of antigen recognition and presentation. 2-(Methylsulfanyl)-1,3,5-triazine may also induce apoptosis by increasing the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This chemical compound is stable in both acidic and basic conditions and does not interact with other compounds or proteins at pH levels between 1-14.
