Niobium(V) N-butoxide is a chemical compound with the formula [NbO] (also written as Nb(OBu)). It has a molecular weight of 286.35 and a molecular formula of NBnO. The molecule contains a hydroxyl group, which is attached to the metal center by an oxygen bridge. Niobium(V) N-butoxide has been used for polymerization initiator for ferroelectric polymers, as well as in the production of nanotubes. This chemical also catalyzes oxidation reactions, such as the oxidation of amides by hydrogen peroxide.
